Tallulah, Madison Parish This is a local favorite, and host to our corps members’ weekly trivia nights. Enjoy great Cajun food, fried catfish, a killer salad bar, and loaded baked potatoes. You’ll be sure to run into community members and families! Fish Tale Grill @ Lake Bruin Lodge St. Joseph, Tensas Parish Owners, Colby and Janae have brought a new type of cuisine to the Louisiana Delta. Enjoy their portabella melt or their loaded cheeseburger with a fried egg, jalapenos and gouda! We suggest their jambalaya if it’s the night’s special. The Dock Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish The Dock is a TFA institution! This restaurant played host to the first group of corps members as they met with local community leaders to launch the region. The restaurant serves as an actual dock for boaters and fishermen on Lake Providence. The gator bites and chicken wings are almost as good as the gorgeous views and the sunset. Duck’s Nest II Ferriday, Concordia Parish This newly built restaurant sits on Lake St. John and provides delicious seafood and breath taking views. The service is great, and so are possibilities for outdoor activities in the immediate vicinity. Natchez Coffee Co. Natchez, MS (just across the river from Concordia Parish) This quaint coffee shop is a great place to relax, use their free wifi, meet others living in the area, and get some work done! We suggest their chai lattes and any of their breakfast sandwiches. Tomato Place Vicksburg, MS (just across the river from Madison Parish) Named one of the top Mississippi Delta restaurants by Southern Living, this outwardly seeming “shack” on the side of infamous Hwy 61 (aka Blues Highway) is host to delicious, fresh sandwiches, smoothies, and hand squeezed lemonade! |
